We are thrilled to share that our participation in the VHS Market at the International Film Festival Rotterdam was a resounding success! The event was a fantastic experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better crowd of fellow movie enthusiasts!
For Those Who Missed the Announcement
Carduelis & Media was invited to showcase our collection at the VHS Market during the International Film Festival Rotterdam. We brought an impressive selection of VHS tapes and Blu-rays, featuring both rare finds and cult classics. The event took place at Boomgaardsstraat 69, inside the WORM Slash Gallery, and was a celebration of film nostalgia, attracting collectors and cinephiles alike.
A Fantastic Turnout
The atmosphere at Boomgaardsstraat 69 was electric, with film lovers of all kinds gathering to celebrate their passion for cinema. From seasoned collectors to curious newcomers, our booth saw a steady stream of visitors throughout the event. The response to our selection of VHS tapes and Blu-rays was incredible, and we were delighted to see so many of you walk away with new additions to your collections.
Engaging Conversations and Shared Passion
One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to interact with so many of you. We had great discussions about classic films, cult favorites, and hidden gems. It was wonderful to hear about your favorite movies and recommendations, and we truly enjoyed exchanging insights with fellow cinephiles.
A particularly exciting moment was meeting Hiromi Aihara, producer who worked on the movie Tetsuo II: Body Hammer. It was fascinating to hear firsthand about her experiences working on such an iconic film. These unexpected encounters make events like this even more special, reminding us of the deep connections that film creates across time and cultures.
Best-Sellers and Hidden Treasures
Our curated collection of VHS tapes and Blu-rays drew a lot of interest, with some titles selling out quickly! From rare VHS finds to modern Blu-ray classics, there was something for everyone. Seeing the excitement on your faces as you discovered long-lost favorites or stumbled upon unexpected gems was incredibly rewarding.
